AT THE END OF THE MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF THE STATE OF OSUN HELD ON WEDNESDAY MARCH 14, 2018, THE FOLLOWING HAS BEEN MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC

  1. Council charged officials of the Ministry of Environment and Sanitation who have been invited to report on the activities of their ministry to rid the state of refuse and filth and maintain all public parks within the shortest possible time. The beautification of the stretch of road median from Asejire to Owena and the various parks in the state should be well maintained.

  1. Council further directed the ministry to note the emerging phenomenon of electronic waste, especially cell phones, which batteries contain harmful substance, and develop effective means of their disposal.

  1. At the appearance of officials of the Ministry of Lands before Council to report the activities of their ministry, council declared all the land within the State Capital Territory as urban. The same applies to the parcels of land within seven kilometre radius of the city centres of Ilesa, Ikirun, Ife, Ila, Iwo, Ede, Ikire and Ejigbo. They are also urban.

  1. Council deliberated extensively and approved a draft bill titled โ€˜The State of Osun Health Insurance Scheme Bill 2018โ€™. This bill, when passed into law, will give legal teeth to the national health insurance scheme in which Osun has been selected as one of the three states to pilot its implementation. • What is happening with the CoO processing at the Osun State Lands Ministry? Since the appointment of
new commissioners, and the introduction of new and additional fees on the procuring of the ducment, nothing has happened.

I believe that Governor Aregbesola is not aware of the development.

Something has to be done quickly!
