Captain Sadeeq said: “We’re now in the middle of the rainy season where visibility is low, the cloud is very low and operations are getting more. The weather is low therefore the chances of having accidents increase”.

“In commercial flights, whenever there is [poor] weather, and heightened operations, the chances of an air crash happening are increased but that doesn’t mean we should accept crashes automatically. But this weather is very challenging for every pilot,” he said.

He also commiserated with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) over the development, saying this incident “reminds of the risk and dangers” associated with air operations.
