Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke will today (Thursday) submit the 2024 budget proposal to the State House of Assembly.

A statement by the spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Rasheed Olawale, noted that the Governor had earlier written the House Speaker, Hon Adewale Egbedun on the proposed submission as statutorily stipulated by extant laws.

The Governor according to the statement is to be accompanied by members of the State Executive Council and the leadership of the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

The event is slated for 10:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, the statement further noted that the ongoing strike by the Parliamentary Staff Association Of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter, would be temporarily suspended for the members of the union to receive the Governor and his entourage.

The union had embarked on strike last week to press home their demand for autonomy.

The statement further reads, “In a step that cleared any hurdle over the presentation, the State Chairman, Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter, Comrade Adekunle Adesina said the ongoing strike would be temporarily discontinued in order to enable the Governor to present the Appropriation bill for the next fiscal year.

“Comrade Adesina had confirmed the readiness of the assembly workers to receive the Governor at the assembly premises.”
