The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, has begun a campaign on major streets of Iwo, Osun State, for the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari.
During the street campaign, which took members of the ‘Buhari Lekansi Initiative’ to Temidire Plank Market, Odori and Ori Eru before ending at Oluwo of Iwo’s palace, leaflets showing a list of achievements of the Buhari’s administration were freely distributed to people.
In a chat with our correspondent, the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Samson Owoyokun, who represented the Convener, Prof Isaac Adewole, said the street campaign would continue until a few hours to the presidential election.
He said aside from campaigning for Buhari’s reelection, the group would also use the opportunity to educate would-be-voters on how to locate the APC logo on the ballot paper.
He said the rally was meant to showcase the achievements of the Buhari and Osinbajo administration in the last three and a half years in a bid to convince the electorate why Buhari should be given another four-year term.
Also, another group of volunteers campaigning for the reelection of Buhari and Osinbajo, called ‘Truth be Told Nigeria’, has commenced its street campaign in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
The street campaign started from Osogbo GRA and moved through popular streets such as Alekuwodo, Fagbewesa and MDS road.
Members of the group also stormed the Orisumbare Market, distributing leaflets, detailing the campaign manifesto and achievements of Buhari.
Traders in the market and passersby were seen scrambling for campaign souvenirs of the APC presidential candidate as members of the group urged the traders to vote for Buhari in the presidential poll.
In an interview with our correspondent, the Osun State Coordinator of the group, Kikiowo Ileowo, said the street campaign would also be extended to the other 29 local government areas in the state.
