Prince  Abayomi Adesanya, the Publicity Secretary of the party, disclosed this in a statement released yesterday. He added that Mimiko’s plan is also aimed at complicating the smooth take-off of the new APC executive to be led by Rotimi Akeredolu.

“The governor concluded plans to proceed on a 10 days vacation and delegate power to his deputy to act as governor prior to [the] handing over date,” he said

“He therefore [transmitted] a notification letter [to] the State’s House of Assembly under the leadership of the former Speaker (Ms. Jumoke Akindele) some days before her removal from office over

Adesanya further alleged that the arrangement failed because the former Speaker could not announce the governor’s vacation letter at the plenary as a result of her removal and the swift response of security agents.

“Since this plot has been foiled by security agents and a change of leadership in the assembly, the governor’s next plan is to sneak out to a neighboring country through the land borders, and then travel through a chartered flight to either Canada or China, where he has acquired some properties with looted funds,” the spokesman said.

The APC spokesman advised security agencies to be on high alert to prevent the governor and his cronies from escaping with the state’s looted funds.

“He must provide explanations about his abysmal rule as governor of Ondo State for the last eight years,” he added.

N15 million fraud allegation.”
