Irepodun South LCDA Gives Grants To 160 Indigenes

The Management, Irepodun South Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Erin Osun has given grants to over 160 indigenes of the council following an empowerment workshops where participants were trained on soap making, chalk, candles and other vocational skills.

The Council’s Chairman, Adekunle Oloyede while delivering his speech, said beneficiaries should utilize the opportunity to become self-reliant economically  and independent by using the fund judiciously.

He said the grant was a tip of an iceberg, noting that his administration is committed to impact dividends of democracy on each and everyone both at wards and local levels.

The APC State Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun at the event advised the beneficiaries to use the fund for the purpose it was meant for.

Commending the management of the LCDA for the development it has brought to the council, he made reference to total rehabilitation of dilapidated Isiaka Maternity Health Center, renovation of streetlights of the Erin Community;  repairs of all major boreholes and water systems in Erin Osun; grading of roads and many more.

He noted that all these development happened within the short time of the creation of the council.

Famodun charged citizens of the council to get their permanent voters’ card ready to return APC government to power in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, noting that some unscrupulous politicians have been boasting around to cancel the council if voted into power.

Also speaking, Commissioner for Youths and Empowerments, Mrs Adegboyega Folake admonished beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money.

In his address, Special Adviser to the governor on Science and Innovations, Mr Muideen Olateju encouraged beneficiaries to use the fund to form cooperative society, where members can loan themselves.

Some of the recipient of the grants expressed their joy at the event, appreciating the governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for giving them LCDA which has brought dividends of democracy nearer to the community.

Others in attendance at the programme were, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Kolapo Alimi; Irepodun South APC Chairman, Mr Rufus Oyegbile among others.
