A 22-year-old Ridwan Ogundeji, Tiamiyu Jelili
(25) and Olaitan Asimiyu (20) have been
remanded in Correctional Centre by an Osogbo magistrate court for allegedly defiling a girl.
The accused persons in the charge sheet obtained byOSUN DEFENDER on Tuesday were alleged of raping the girl by unlawfully and indecently assaulted the girl (name withheld) by unlawfully having carnal knowledge of her.
Police prosecutor, Mr John Idoko told the court that the offences were committed on November 17, 2019, around 3pm at Ifon-Osun, Orolu Local Government of the state.
Idoko stated that the offence was contrary to and punishable under Sections 516,358 and 360 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol 2 Laws of Osun State, Nigeria, 2002.
The suspects who were arraigned on three-count charge of rape, assault and conspiracy pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
Defence Counsel, Mrs Okobe Najite pleaded with the court to release the accused person on bail in the most liberal terms.
But Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara in his ruling declined the bail application and ordered that the suspects be remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre.
The case was adjourned till February 29,2020.
