I Dimeji Macaulay write to call your attention to the wave of things going on in the South Eastern part of Nigeria in the recent time with your activities around the struggle for actualization of Biafra and while your struggle is an inalienable right; it should not be allowed to degenerate to a level where the movement becomes mockery of our collective intellectualism and unity as country.

I have been procrastinating to write you this letter because of busy schedule and hoping that my advice may come from another people that can be better and superior than my.  Today i urge you to prove your enemy wrong, change your tactics and method of the agitation by stopping hate speech which is the one of the reasons people against your agitation.

In nearby country, the Southern Cameroonians are also fighting for independent from the Cameroon; they’re organized with their members of parliament through the Social Democratic Front (SDF).  They grievances is even more similar but genuine than that you and the Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB). They’re  fighting for Southern Cameroon to be an independent nation from Cameroon  because of the attempt to introduce French to the  English speaking area by the Paul Biya dictatorial regime,  Just few days back  the Colombia guerilla group  declare a political  party  that will contest in election that is coming after decades of arm struggle and civil war.  We are in twenty-first century and the best methods to prove your enemy wrong is to provide a political pplatform foryour  followers, sympathizers and supporters to get organized  and organized  an indirect referendum  like what the Catalonia people did in Spain.

Struggle for self-determination is an inalienable right recognized internationally.

Today  in US, California say’s they want to go away from United State  nobody  kill anybody  or turn it to bloody situation and the debates is ongoing . In Spain, Catalonia want to go from Spain, they have organized with a political platform and organized referendum by October 1 they we declare their independent despite that it against the law of Spain and there is no war and fight, no killing or hate speech. In Morocco, Western Sahara is fighting for independent from Morocco and they have armed group called Polisaro and our federal government is one of the government in the world supporting their freedom.  In Palestine they are fighting Israel for occupation of their land and President Buhari is lending voice to it.  So nothing is wrong with Biafra agitation but the method is a big problem. Is also important to stress the fact about the situation of China and Taiwan, Indian and Kashmir, Indonesia and West Paupa are very similar.

But saying you will not allow election  to hold in Anambra state is wrong  and not a correct  method it create more enemy and make people see your agitations as unorganized one  let your  people get organized and recalled  few of the political office holders and compel your  governors to begin social  services that your  people needed.  Nigeria authorities will never organize referendum.  It’s in my opinion that only by this democratic methods you can use to move your agitation forward not by boycotting election and then empty threat to the Nigeria state.    Struggle for self-determination isn’t a new thing and it‘s growing anger against world capitalist system and their puppets in Nigeria and Africa.

Your anger today is normal anger of an average Nigerian and what you must do it to itemized program on basis of ending capitalism because a Biafra with a capitalist system is doom to fail, as Nigeria is a failed state today.  I urge you Mr Kanu to drop your empty threat, hate speech and stop continue miss using of Nigeria failed state to waste life of the young and energetic youth of South East.

I must also say your  background  also  affected your cause  because  different  display of people kissing your  shoes, kneeling down  and you feeling  big isn’t  a good  way of been a fighter and leader of the poor who truly want to liberate them but to continue to rule them if Biafra  ever come to existent.  Leader of the people see himself as equal, join them daily to work out workable solutions to improve their life’s. Kneeling down kissing your shoe speaks more of what Biafra will be under your government even there are possibility of it worse than the Nigeria you referred to as zoo.

The  federal government  terror unleashed  on South  East of recent is because of your misguided  speech and empty threat in many public programs and interview .The level of poverty, unemployment and the way life’s are not valued as make Nigeria  situation volatile and opened our youth to joining  different  reactionary forces that cannot guaranty their own future, inequality in wealth  distribution  and also secrecy in spending our collective resources are all glaring facts that put the country at threat of disintegration. The Boko Haram menace in the North East is also a product of this greedy system.    But the present arrangements of neo liberal policies and imperialist inflicted puppets running Nigeria and Africa will continue to plug it to endless poverty and ethno religion crisis.

I have traveled across all the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria, there is nothing wrong with any of our people and no zones cannot be self-independent, I have also leave with different tribes in Nigeria none of us is violence or not accommodating .

Let me start by reminding you  that late Fela Anikulapo Kuti sing a song shortly after the civil  war in 1979, the title of the album is  Viva Africa,  where he warns Africans that we need peace, though  languages and tongues may differ but let’s us band our wounds and work together.

If am sleeping and they wake me up then ask me that Nigeria or Oduduwa republic, i will say Nigeria but not with the present arrangements and system. Because the present arrangements of neo liberal policies and imperialist inflicted puppets running Nigeria will continue to plug it to endless  poverty and injustice.

I have seen gory pictures and worrisome videos emerging from the ongoing python dance by Nigeria Army, but it’s important to let you know that Nigeria military and Paramilitary are well known for clueless and reckless handling of issues like this,  don’t  forget, Fela Anikulapo  referred to them as zombies, the killing of hundreds of members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (ISM) on December 12,2015 and many other reported cases are evidence that shows and affirmed my position on their cluelessness and recklessness, let me also buttress this fact to you that many of those you see in military work in Nigeria  are not doing it willing they’re  doing it for surviving and they will be ruthlessly in their operations beyond what they’re sent to do. Many of those that wish and ready to do the work are wasting in many part if the country, because nepotism in Nigeria today is very high many of those that get millitary job are not by merit, many got it by whom they know.

I have participated in many rally’s and i have seen  security officials lamenting more than myself, they’re human being suffering as poor  and working class are suffering today.  They’re frustrated but there is nothing they can do because the hierarchical and bureaucracy in the military don’t give them chance to say their views, that’s why Fela kuti sing a song called Zombies.

I was in court during your days in the detention five different times so I write as an insider and also a born Nigeria and that want a country where justice, peace, development, progress and love can rain. Let me say this that i believe in Nigeria unity but i don’t believe is not negotiable. I support restructuring but not the type that will handover more power to the rogues ruling class while the poor and common man will continue to suffer amidst abundance.  I also want  you to note that Nigeria of today is mixed in all geo political zones so much that any attacks on any tribe can get a reprisal attack in any other tribe.  For instance in a plaza where i work in Abuja,  if you enter through the gate by your right is a gate man house of someone from certain region, by your left is another shop a woman selling credit from another region and in main building are occupants of different ethnic group. My first time to travel to North central, sometimes around September 2009, it was an Igbo woman that gave me confidence that nothing will happen to me if I entre Bida, Niger State in the midnight, my first time of visiting the North west,   Zamfara state to be precise was December, 2010 and the apartment I slept was full of Yorubas people.

So, the early you change your methods the earlier the best to avoid bloodshed.

Thank you ,
