A 38-year-old woman identified simply as Folasade has been arrested by the Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for allegedly defrauding an orphanage home in the state to the tune of N1 million.

NSCDC state commandant, Olatunde Fayemi, made this known while parading the suspect alongside six other suspected criminals on Monday in Ado-Ekiti.

Osun Defender gathered that Folasade, who was an employee of the orphanage home, collected the money on behalf of the centre without the knowledge of the management.

A statement by the spokesperson of the command, Afolabi Tolulope, noted that the suspect statement of account showed that she had been carrying out the alleged dubious act for over nine months before Nemesis caught up with her.

The statement read in part, “In the process, the management of the home alleged her to have collected over one million naira given by good Samaritans for the aid of the children in their custody.

“Folasade was also accused of having stolen the property of the home, depriving the children of the use of these donated items and relief materials. Upon interrogation, it was discovered from her statement of account that she had been doing this for over nine months before Nemesis caught up with her.”
