We Only Recieved N2bn For Palliative, N7bn For Infrastructure, Osun Govt Refutes APC’s Allegation

The Osun State Government has refuted allegations, claiming it received only N2 billion from the Federal Government for subsidy palliative.

In a statement signed by the Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Spokesperson, Rasheed Olawale on Sunday, the state government clarified that the N2 billion was allocated for subsidy palliatives, while an additional N7 billion refund from the Federal Government was earmarked for infrastructure intervention.

Debunking the alleged statement attributed to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rasheed described it as a deliberate falsehood and misinformation.

“At the Ipade Imole event, Governor Adeleke informed the state’s residents that the N2 billion released for subsidy palliatives is being disbursed for food palliatives, transport services, and refurbishment of health centres. Procurement orders have already been placed.”

“On the N7 billion federal refund,” Rasheed continued, “the Governor explained in both Yoruba and English that it was designated for infrastructure intervention and constitutes less than 20 per cent of the total funds the Osun State Government is committing to infrastructure upgrades.

“This government is committed to transparency and accountability, following the principles of open government and freedom of information.

“Our people understand, appreciate, and support Mr. Governor and the good intentions of his administration.

“At a time when the Presidency is concerned about the legacy and profile of the previous APC government in Osun State, the opposition is daily sinking into disarray, getting practically paralysed and strategically disorganised in the face of a serving Governor with over a 90 per cent performance approval rating.

“The individuals confused, disorganised, and blinded by the loss of power are the APC rank and file, who daily sponsor fake news that further tarnishes the opposition party’s public image.

“Governor Adeleke remains a deeply honest, accountable, and responsive leader whose primary focus is delivering good governance and democratic dividends to the good people of Osun State,” the statement read.

The Governor also provided details of the proposed infrastructure projects.

These include road dualisation, the construction of overhead bridges, extensive solar lighting of major roads, hospital upgrades, water intervention projects, and the Imole housing estates, spread across the nine federal constituencies.

The statement also indicated that due process and compliance with procurement laws are currently underway.
