1: Oluwo Confers Chieftaincy Title On Kano Princess

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale on Saturday, conferred the chieftaincy title of ‘Yeye Otunba’ of Iwo land on Mrs. Asmau Atanda.

Mrs Atanda is a granddaughter of the former Emir of Kano, Sir Muhammadu Sanusi I.

Speaking during the ceremony held at his palace, the monarch called on traditional leaders in the country to accommodate citizens in their domain irrespective of where they are from.

Oba Adewale said that was the only way to show the diverse nature of Nigeria, urging traditional leaders to shun discrimination.

2. Adeleke Committed To Payment Of Pension – Alimi

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has reiterated his commitment to continuing paying the pension for retired workers in the state.

The Governor while reacting to a claim by the opposition that he has not been paying pension, noted that his administration has been consistent in paying some of the accrued pensions, owed by previous governments, from the inception of his administration.

A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, a copy received by OSUN DEFENDER, said stakeholders were aware of sustained efforts of the current government to pay up the inherited pensions.

3. Infrastructural Decay: Adeleke Seeks TETFund’s Support In Tertiary Institutions

The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has sought the support of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) in strengthening the infrastructural development of tertiary institutions in the state.

Adeleke called for the intervention while speaking during a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Sonny Echono in Abuja on Friday.

The governor who noted the educational decline of the state said that the visit was necessary to ensure education takes its place.
