Michael James has ‎it that the coach had a meeting with 20 years old shortly after watching him in action for Swansea City in their 1-2 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates.

According to Times, Southgate assured the 20-year old that he could gate-crash his World Cup squad for England, even if he doesn’t make the next squad of England which will be released on Thursday.

Although there are other strikers ahead of Abraham in the pecking order of forwards available to coach Southgate, he, however, assured Abraham that one or two striking slots are up for grabs.

Daniel Sturridge and Danny Welbeck’s poor injury record, as well as Jermain Defoe who is close to 36 years old, could play in his favor when Southgate releases his squad for the World Cup.
