Secure Vehicles With Pedal Lock – DPO Admonishes

By Murtala Agboola

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ataoja Police Division, Ataoja Estate, Osogbo, has admonished vehicles owners to protect their vehicles with additional security devices such as pedal lock.

Agbemoroti, a superintendent of police, gave the admonition at the monthly meeting of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) of the Police division recently.

He said that a vehicle parked at an Event Centre in the police division was stolen in the division but found in Bayelsa State same day.

“But for the effort of the policeman who put the information about the stolen vehicle on the internet, may be the car would not have been retrieved,” Agbemoroti added.

The police chief appealed to the PCRC members to provide vital information to assist police in curbing criminal activities.

Meanwhile, stakeholders at the meeting charged local security and vigilantes to further support the police in curbing crime, saying though, their presence might not be able to provide adequate security, but their presence may scare perpetrators of evils.

The heads of private schools in the community were also charged to liaise with the police on regular basis to ensure security in their schools.

The meeting also reiterated the fact that the activities of motorcycle riders must be checked especially in the evening when some unscrupulous members used them for robbery.

The chairman of PCRC, Chief Gbadebo Adeyemo, asked members to contribute generously to the laudable projects of the committee.
