Robbery Suspects Remanded In Prison

A Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo Osun state has remanded three suspects in Ilesha prison custody on Monday over alleged robbery.

The three accused Persons, Adeloye Pelumi 22, Afeez Adigun 32 and Nasirudeen jamiyu 25 were docked on seven count charges bothering on conspiracy, felony to wit armed robbery.

The prosecutor  Assistant Superintendent of police Fagboyinbo Abiodun said the accused persons armed themselves with axes and cutlasses and robbed one Daramola of his Blackberry Mobile phone worth N21,000.

He added that the accused persons engaged in an unlawful society named Eiye secret cult and use illegal assembly to disturb the peace of the community.

The prosecutor informed the court that the accused persons committed the offence on September 24, 2017 at about 1pm at Island Bar, Asubiaro area Osogbo.

Fagboyinbo summited that the offence contravene section 6(b) and punishable under section 1(I) of the robbery and firearms (special provisions) Act cap All vol.14 Laws of the federation of Nigeria, 2004.

The accused persons who were represented by Mr.A. Emmanuel pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs Fatima Sodamade ordered that the three men be remanded in Ilesha prison custody.

She adjourned the case to October 24, 2018 for mention.
