A 32-year-old commercial motorcycle operator, Femi Faniran, has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court over a missing motorcycle in Osogbo.

Faniran was accused of absconding with a Bajaj motorcycle given to him on installments by one Olanrewaju Lukman.

According to the charge sheet obtained by OSUN DEFENDER yesterday, the accused person committed the offence on September 17, 2022 at about 8.00pm at Dada Estate, Osogbo.

The offence contravened Sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun State, 2002.

The accused person, however, pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge bordering on stealing leveled against him.

Applying for the bail of the defendant, defence counsel, Tunbosun Oladipupo, prayed the court to admit him to bail on a liberal term, noting that the accused person was robbed of the motorcycle and was injured in the process.

Oladipupo noted that the defendant was still receiving treatment for the injury sustained.

The counsel further explained that the accused person was a reliable citizen of the state and that a reliable surety would stand for him throughout the trial.

In his ruling, the presiding Magistrate, M.A Olatunji, admitted the defendant to bail in sum of N100,000 with two sureties.

The case was adjourned till October 31, 2022, for hearing.
