1. Oyetola Attacks Adeleke, Says Gov. Playing Politics With Projects

Former Governor of Osun State, Adegoboyga Oyetola has described the allegation by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP-led administration in the state that he abandoned the SDG projects in Osogbo and Iragbiji as an attempt to play politics with governance.

Oyetola explained that it is preposterous for the present administration to accuse his government of abandoning projects that were duly completed, equipped and inaugurated weeks before he left office.

Speaking through his spokesperson, Ismail Omipidan, Oyetola said after the inauguration of the SDG projects, he handed over the Skills acquisition center to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the hospitals to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, asking how a government which took over in November 2022, would suddenly wake up 10 months after to say the projects were abandoned.

2. Olufon Stool: Court Declines Prayer Seeking to Stop Osun Government From Filling Vacant Stool

The Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo on Tuesday, declined an oral prayer from Odunolu Oluronbi and Oluyeyin royal families seeking to stop the state government from filling the vacant Olufon stool.

Osun Defender reports that the Oluyeyin royal family and Odunolu royal family had approached the court to seek for an injunction to restrain the osun state government from continuing the process of installation of the new Olufon of Ifon.

Justice Ayo Oyebiyi while declining the order recalled the granting of several orders on the same subject matter.

He noted the absence of representatives of other interested parties in the matter in court as a major reason for declining the order.

3. Osun Pensioners Warn Members Against Protest, Distance Themselves

The Osun State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), has dissociated itself from protest and warned its members from embarking on any protest in demand for the payment of their pensions and gratuity.

The Union in a statement jointly signed by the state Chairman and Secretary, Alh. Salawu Ganiyu and Comrade Dele Aina, on Tuesday, directed that the planned protest by a section of pensioners should be put on hold since the leadership of the union has been in talks with the state government.

“Given the meeting held with the state government representatives, the state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners has pleaded with the warring contributory pensioners to let’s embrace dialogue as there’s a lot to gain in dialoguing than being confrontational.

4. Adeleke Pledges To Support Traditional Medicine

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has pledged to support traditional medicine, saying his government will strengthen traditional medicine through favourable policies.

The governor who attested to the efficacy of traditional medicine endorsed the products of YEMKEM International for cure of ailments.

He particularly commended Dr. Akintunde Ishola Ayeni popularly known as YEMKEM for his positive impacts on Nigerians.

Governor Adeleke who spoke at the 60th birthday celebration of Prince Ayeni said he was proud of the many life-saving discoveries in the field of traditional medicine which had made him to treat millions of Nigerians of numerous ailments.
