REACTIONS have been trailing a statement made by the government of the State of Osun on the controversial recruitment of 1,000 teachers in the state.

In the said statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs. Funke Egbemode, the government defended itself on the recruitment process but failed to address the issue of non-disclosure of the names of the newly recruitment teachers.

Residents of the state, particularly, those who applied to be employed in the teachers’ recruitment exercise, have been bashing the state government for refusing to publish the names of the 1,000 teachers it claimed it has employed.

Reacting to the statement, some social media commentators took on Egbemode on her Facebook page, describing the statement as fallacious and unprofessional.

One of the commentators, Ms. Feranmi Damilola said: “The applicants are not demanding for interview scores but the list or names of the successful applicants for the critical subjects.”

Another commentator, Engr. Victor Oludayo said: “Who you help with this your unprofessional write up which is full of professional lies? This is a government that is busy deceiving the innocent masses. Why are you covering things? It is obvious that the underlined recruitment process is just a scam.”

Oluwabukunmi Oyebode said: “This is fraud on the part of government. Other states give out employment forms free but you sold yours for N3,000, knowing well that these people will not be considered. Jamboree recruitment.”

Abdulrosheed Adebayo wrote: “If not that you have hidden agenda, why not publishing the names of the successful candidates and specified those you want to employ for now?”.

In her comment, Abidemi Jejelomo said: “Stop defending your kangaroo recruitment. It is the applicants that are complaining and not politicians. If you are true and serious with yourself publish the name of the teachers recruited. Scam government, 2022 is not far.”
