Osun Tribunal Verdict Will Not Stand – Osun Youth Ambassadors

Following the unexpected split judgement delivered at the governorship election petition tribunal on Friday, Osun PDP Youth Ambassadors has revealed that it is an attempt to undermine the mandate of the Osun people freely given to Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Osun PDP group in a statement on Sunday, by the Chairman Ebby Oluwasegun Ige, said that the verdict delivered by Justice Tertse Kume, will not stand.

According to him, “After careful study of the judgment, we want to state unequivocally that the verdict as delivered by Justice Tertse Kume, is a clear travesty of justice and an attempt to undermine the mandate of the Osun people freely given to Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke on the 16th of July, 2022.

“We strongly believe that the judgement is a back door judgment secured by the undemocratic forces within the All Progressives Congress (APC), whose stock in trade is to always buy their way in attempting to perpetuating themselves in power and pocketing the will of the people.

“It is in the public domain that they have persistently boasted of winning at the tribunal and have already declared themselves winners weeks before the judgment was pronounced. Some of the APC members had even declared on social media that the tribunal judgement was going to be a “2-1”. We didn’t take that serious untill on Friday.

“It is therefore important that we alert Nigerians that these anti democratic forces in the APC, apart from wanting to perpetuate themselves in power against the popular wish of the people, also plan to use the “Buga” judgment to cast aspersion on the ability of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in using the BVAS machine to conduct a credible 2023 general elections, and discourage Nigerians from coming out to vote in the general elections, having realized that they can no more win any election in Nigeria free and square.

“We want to therefore use this medium to assure the Osun youths and the Nigerian people that this kangaroo judgment will not stand. The mandate that the Osun people willingly gave to Senator Ademola Adeleke remains unshaken. We are believers of fair judicial system as the last hope of the people, we strongly believe that the judiciary will not let our people down as the case moves to the Court of Appeal.

“However, we have also noticed the demonstrations and protests that have enveloped the major towns in Osun over the said judgment and want to appeal to our fellow youths to be clam. we are all angry and disappointed, but we must not be discouraged, we must also not forget that the struggle of light over darkness is not always an easy one. We want to appeal to the good people of osun and Nigeria particularly the youths to rather use our anger positively, let us channel our anger and displeasure in the tribunal Judgment by coming out massively to reject then with our PVC’s come February 25th and March 11.

“Only then will they come to the realization that it is already a new dawn and that it is no longer business as usual for them, the youths and people of Nigeria have woken up from their political slumber and ready to flush out the ineptitude leadership of the APC at all levels.

“Let us channel our anger on this kangaroo Osun tribunal judgment, on the scarcity of fuel and sufferings Nigerians are made to suffer, on the increasing rate of youth unemployment, the killings, kidnappings and hunger in the land and the unending ASUU strikes to say enough is enough.

“Come out en-mass to vote to recover Nigeria, vote all PDP candidates for Senate, Federal House of Representatives and the State Assembly.

‘Finally, if we don’t relent, we will be able to courageously stand up, look them in the face and “Buga won”, after the forthcoming Presidential Election, National Assembly and State Assembly elections.”
