Osun Organises 34th Edition of Free Train for Easter Holiday Makers

As Christians the world over celebrate Easter, the Government of Osun has again announced its 2018 Easter free train service to ease transportation of holiday makers.

It is the 34th edition of the provision of free train service from Lagos to Osogbo as the government of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola commenced the provision of the service to its citizens from 2011 shortly after assumption of office.

A statement by the Commissioner for Industries, Commerce and Cooperatives, Hon. Ismail Adekunle Jayeoba-Alagbada, explained that the government is happy to have come this far in the provision of the service that makes life more comfortable for the citizens of Osun and other states.

“We are happy as we again this year 2018, organize to give our people free train service for the 2018 Easter celebration. This is the 34th edition and it is gratifying to note that several millions of people have benefitted from this gesture,”Jayeoba-Alagbada was quoted as saying.

The statement explained that the free train would move from the usual Iddo Train Terminus in Lagos at 10am on Friday March 29, 2018 and arrive Osogbo, the Osun state capital at 6pm same day.

The train’s return journey, according to the statement, would take off from the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park Train Station, Osogbo at 10am on Monday April 2, 2018 and arrive Lagos Iddo Terminus at 6pm.

While urging Easter holiday makers to make maximum use of the opportunity, the commissioner said passengers along the Lagos-Ogun-Oyo to Osun routes would have opportunities to join the train at designated train stations.
