THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday screened six governorship aspirants for the ticket of the party to contest the July 16, 2022 governorship election in the State of Osun.
The screening committee was headed by a former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke.
Senator Ademola Adeleke, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, Hon. Olusanya Omirin, Mr. Dele Adeleke, former Secretary to State Government, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade and Mr. Dotun Babayemi were aspirants screened for the PDP governorship ticket.
Adoke, while addressing newsmen after the conclusion of the screening on Wednesday, said the committee would submit its report in 48 hours (today).
Ogunbiyi, Oluseye and Akinbade expressed confidence in the ability of the screening committee to do justice.
Also, Dele Adeleke, one of the screened aspirants said that the idea of having a consensus candidate was not bad, but the party must do it democratically.
Adeleke also described himself as a credible politician with grassroots support, who could win the election for PDP in the state.
