Osun Govt. To Reconsider Sacked Teachers Employed By Oyetola

The Osun State Government has assured that the sacked 1,500 teachers appointed by the former administration of Adegboyega Oyetola will be reconsidered.

Recall that the teachers were sacked by Governor Ademola Adeleke-led Peoples Democratic Party through an executive order, stating that their appointments does not follow due process.

However, the state government through the commissioner for education, Dipo Eluwole said the sacked teachers should apply afresh.

Eluwole said the state will organise an Educational Summit this week so as to discuss and address the factors affecting education across Osun State.

He said: “There is a drastic change in the education system in Osun, we are working towards positioning it, may God help us.

“We are going to organise the State 2023 Educational Summit so as to discuss and address the factors affecting the state of education in Osun. Everything that will be discussed at the summit will be looked into critically.

“I want to tell you that those that were employed by the last administration and eased out when this administration took over are going to apply afresh like others and I want to assure you that only those that are qualified as teachers by discipline are the ones that are going to be considered because when we say we are re-training the teachers, it is easier for the government to train those that have been in that line. Only the experts are going to be taken for teaching in Osun.

“I want to assure you that those that are going to be employed are going to be employed both at the primary and secondary levels. They are going to be qualified teachers, we are going to take it seriously.”
