THE Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has disclosed that a total of 170 violators of various traffic rules and regulations were apprehended in the State of Osun, in February.

Of the 170 violators, 65 of them, amounting to 38 per cent, were educated people, said the Osun Sector Commander of the FRSC, Henry Benamesia.

Benamesia, in a statement by the command’s Spokesperson, Agnes Ogungbemi, said: “There was no record of death in the month under review; this shows the level of commitment of our officers on highways.

“We were able to make the arrest of some persons charged with offences such as speeding, dangerous driving and wrongful overtaking, among others.”

According to him, the command will continue sensitising road users on the dangers of reckless driving.

He, however, called on stakeholders in the transport sector to support the corps in achieving zero accident records in the state at all times.
