A Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, will on July 14, 2022 deliver judgment on a suit filed by a governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, against Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on the governorship ticket of the party.
Counsels to the parties in the suit adopted all their written addresses when the case came up at the court on Wednesday.
Counsel to the governor, O.O Jolawo, SAN, had earlier told the court that he wanted applications on the preliminary objections to be argued and concluded before the judgment.
But the court objected, insisting that since it is pre-election matter, it must be concluded before the election day.
Following the adoption of the written addresses, Justice Ekwo of the court adjourned the case to July 14 for his verdict on the matter.
The Osun governorship election is coming up on July 16.
Adeoti is challenging Oyetola’s eligibility to participate in the APC governorship primary election held on February 19 this year on the ground that he did not resign his membership of the Caretaker and Extra Ordinary Convention Planning Committee.
It would be recalled that Adeoti, an aspirant, came second in the highly compromised governorship primary election held on February 19, this year.
The former Secretary to the State Government who felt cheated in the primary election approached the court to seek redress as regards Oyetola’s eligibility to contest with a prayer that he (Adeoti) be declared as the APC candidate for the July 16 governorship election.
