The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS Zone D, (South-West Zone) on Saturday, December 11, 2021 elected a new leadership to paddle the affairs of students in the zone for a new dispensation.
The convention which was held at Micheal Otedola College of Primary Education, Mocped, Epe in Lagos state has in attendance numerous Students’ Unions and the association’s stakeholders across the six south-western states.
The Convention produced Comrade Tegbe Stephen Fiyinfoluwa, popular refered to as Tegbe, a student of The Polytechnic Ibadan, as the new Coordinator of the Zone.
Tegbe polled 25 votes to defeat Comrade Olans Stephen of Osun state Polytechnic Iree, who had 6 votes and a void out the of 32 Students Unions present.
Other elected officers at the convention include; Comrade Ezeigbe Emmanuel, YES, from Federal Polytechnic Ede, State of Osun, who emerged as the Public Relations Officer, after defeating Comrade Salako Olawale of Tai Solarin University of Education.
Also, Comrade Kayomide Ojo of Ekiti State University emerged as the Treasurer unopposed.
Comrade Andoya Solomon Gas, from the University of Lagos, emerged unopposed as the Deputy Coordinator.
In the same vein, Comrade Ibrahim Arogundade from Micheal Otedola College of Primary Education Lagos, emerged unopposed as the Assistant General Secretary.
Meanwhile, the election for other positions was postponed till the next senate sitting of the Zone.
