The Osun State Police Command has arraigned a 32-year-old man, Olawale Abiodun Adesola before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing electric wire from a shop.
Abiodun was docked before Magistrate Falilat Sodamade on two count charges bothering on felony to wit, stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Fagboyinbo Abiodun told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 3, 2018 at about 10.pm at Boorepo Chemist, Ayetoro area in Osogbo.
He explained further that the accused person broke into a shop occupied by one Taiwo Adetola with intent to commit felony to wit stealing.
The Prosecutor informed the court that the defendant stole electric wire, monitor and speaker valued N200,000, property of Taiwo Adetola.
The prosecutor submitted that the offences contravene Sections 414, 383 and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 volume 11.laws of Osun State 2003.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the two count charges alleged against him by the police.
The defence counsel, Mrs B. Y. Dada prayed the court to grant her client bail in the most liberal and affordable terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs Falilat Sodamade granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety.
She said surety must resides within the court jurisdiction, sworn to affidavit of means and produce evidence of three years tax payment to the State government of Osun State.
She hereby adjourned the case to August, 2018 for hearing.
