Lawmakers in the State of Osun House of Assembly under the umbrella of Ayedire/Iwo/Olaoluwa Federal Constituency have appealed to the Federal Government to site the proposed Federal College of Education allocated to Osun to Iwo.

The three lawmakers in the Iwo Federal Constituency, Hon Gbenga Ogunkanmi (Ayedire), Hon Uzamot Adebayo (Iwo) and Hon Adegbile Abefe (Olaoluwa) said it was imperative for the Federal government to site the institution in Iwo because of its economic and political peculiarities.

In a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, the lawmakers said Iwo being the most populous city in the state and headquarters of Osun West Senatorial District deserves the institution because there is no federal presence in the city.

They argued that the federal college of education, if brought to the city, would ensure equity and fairness without political influence or interference as well as giving the present administration more support in the constituency.

They stressed that the institution if located in the area will open more doors of economic opportunities in the area.
