Lagosians In Fear As Ritualist Den Uncovered

Lagos is perhaps one of the busiest states in Africa, as it is popularly known as the city of hustle. Hence the disbelief that went through the hearts of residents of Ijaiye community in Lagos after a den of ritualist was uncovered in the  A ritualist’s den has been uncovered at Obadeyi Ajala.

According to reports the events that uncovered the ritualist took place at the early hours of Tuesday, when a state worker sweeping the road noticed a woman being pulled underground and heard her screams. She alerted passers-by who noticed that the cry was coming from the underground where the canal is linked at Obadeyi bus stop, Ijaiye.

The police were said to have been alerted and came to the scene and rescued the victims and apprehended the culprits found.

“The police were able to uncover the hiding place where the suspects carried out their evil acts with the aid of soldiers who invaded the secluded territory. By 10.00am, the crowd had already tripled. Onlookers from Agege, Sango, Ifo had arrived Obadeyi area in Ojokoro to witness the incidence.

“It took several hours to dig into the den where the suspects had hidden their victims; about two persons were rescued and taken to the hospital, as they appeared unconscious. Since security agents were already on the ground, angry mob were prevented from carrying out a mob attack on the suspect, who refused to confess to the crime,” an eye witness who craved anonymity said.

It was gathered that the crowd later succeeded and set ablaze one of the suspects, but surprisingly to them, as fire was burning all over him, he appeared unhurt.

It was learnt that the abandoned house which the den lead to also served as a hideout for the kidnappers.

“The suspect boasted that there was nothing they could do to harm him. Even some moved to dismember him with machetes and all sorts of weapons, but he wasn’t still perturbed”, the witness said.

Although there have been different versions of the story, the security operatives interviewed confirmed that 3 suspects were caught but 2 were set ablaze by the angry mob, and one taken to the station for interrogation.
