Insecurity:  NYSC DG Warns  Corps Members Against Night Traveling

The Director General of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Mohammed Fada has warned youth corps members deployed to Katsina state to avoid night journeys and remain security conscious in all camp activities.

General Fada sounded the warning while speaking to 2022 Batch C, Stream 1, corps members deployed to Katsina that his visit was to assess their security and welfare, enjoined them to remain patriotic and be prepared for deployment in the forth coming 2023 general elections.

According to him, ’’You must remain conversant with the electoral laws with a view to participating effectively at the elections. As you are all aware, during the 2023 general elections in which all of you would participate, when the time comes, play according to the rules of the game. Be conversant with the electoral laws and be patriotic.”

He assured them that the NYSC authorities have placed a high premium on their safety.

On life after the service year, General Fadah implored the corps members to ensure that they embrace one of the vocations being taught at the orientation camp.

The vocation, he said, could serve as something they could fall back on after their service year.

The Katsina state NYSC Coordinator, Hajiya Aisha Muhammad had earlier told the visiting DG that 1,032 corps members had registered at the camp for the orientation.

According to her, the figures were made up of 562 males and 470 females.
