Ikire Agog As Aregbesola Visits Federal Constituency

There was jubilation on the streets of Ikire when the Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola visited the Ayedaade Federal Constituency on Thursday.
Residents happily trooped out to meet the Governor right from the junction of the town and escorted him to the palace of the Akire and then to the field when the event took place.
In his speech, the Akire of Ikire, Oba Olatunde Falabi praised Aregbesola for developing the State, adding that the Governor would have done more but for the paucity of funds caused by the recent economic recession which befell the country.
He also commended the efforts of the Governors at curtailing the menace of Fulani herdsmen from degenerating into a crisis in the state.
Oba Falabi who stated that the State has been out of the news for the killings and clashes with herdsmen because of Aregbesola’s proactive steps, however noted that more efforts should be put in as the herdsmen are increasing in their numbers.
The Monarch also commended Aregbesola for the various water and electrification projects going on in different parts of the State.
“One cannot just help but praise his efforts because he has done what nobody thought was possible, he came at a time when there was no sufficient funds yet he gave the people of Osun good governance.”
While addressing party members, Ogbeni Aregbesola said the purpose of the visit was to sensitize members in respect of the fast approaching governorship election.
He emphasized the need for party members to start propagating and mobilising people to ensure the party’s victory at the polls.
“We have to start working by calling people’s attention to the lies of the opposition party. It is the continuity of the party we want. If we want the State to continue moving forward, our party must remain in power. We must not give the opposition party a chance to spoil our legacy.”he added.
