The Grandmother of three of the recently released kidnapped Pupils of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools in Emure-Ekiti in Ekiti State, Mrs Dorcas Ojo, on Sunday, disclosed that she had planned to ingest poison if her abducted grandchildren were not released by the Kidnappers.

Mrs Ojo while speaking with newsmen at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) after the Pupils were allowed to go home after undergoing treatment, said she had already bought and kept in a safe place, a product having the capacity to terminate her life.

She noted that she would have used the product had it been that her three abducted grandchildren were not freed by their abductors.

She said that the grandchildren were living with her and had been in the hospital with them since government had brought them there.

Narrating the ordeal that the abductees were made to pass through, Mrs Ojo said, “The abductors made the children to undergo what their parents had never experienced.

“They (Children) were traumatized by the Kidnappers as they were forced to trek long distances in the bush, not staying in one location, and also not given food to eat during the seven days they were in captivity.

“They were saved by God Almighty through the prayers of the people of Emure, Eporo Communities” She stated.

In his words, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Oyebanji Filani said, “We are here today from the place of joy, happiness and excitement.

“As a government having had the children released and having had them properly treated by various team from management here in the Teaching Hospital on Ekiti State, we would be returning them to their community.”
