Gunmen Invade Poly Ibadan Staff Quarters, Attack Lecturers

Suspected gunmen have invaded the Staff Quarters of The Polytechnic Ibadan attacked some lectures.

An official of the institution who did not want his name mentioned said a lecturer by name, Mr Okedara Emmanuel alias “Uncle O” was shot.

The victim who is said to be receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital, was also sustained matchet cuts on his head.

The source further revealed that many occupants of the staff quarters were also injured while their valuables worth millions of naira were cart away by the gunmen.

The official, who did not give details, said the incident occurred on the earlier hours of Monday.

When contacted to confirm the incident, the public relations officer of the institution, Alhaji Soladoye promised to get in touch with newsmen as soon as he gets briefing from the institution’s security department.
