Group Distributes Food Items To Members In Osun

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Happy World Meal Gate (HWMG) on Tuesday distributed food items to its members to cushion the effect of economic downturn in the country.


The initiative which was launched officially in Osogbo, the State of Osun capital attracted several participants and willing members.


HWMG which was founded as a multi level marketing (MLM) company of African extraction has a membership base of over 10,000 across the country with mission to alleviate poverty and empower its members so as to have sufficient food on their table, reduce feeding expenses and self-dependent among many benefits.


Speaking during the launching, the Program Manager, Mrs. Maria Adekunbi, explained that, “We are doing the launching of Happy World Meal Gate; it is a network program for poverty alleviation. We started it in Lagos and I decided to bring it down to Osun State. The participants will have to pay N6,400 and thereafter you bring in six people which will make you to be entitled to a package as a starter.


“We have branches all over Nigeria and what we stand to achieved by this program is to increase the numbers of our members so that we can enjoy what other states are enjoying; once we have membership strength of 500 to 1000 we will be entitled to office in the State where members food pack will be received in Osun State; but for now we have to go to Ibadan to get our food packs.


She noted that, “The program is to alleviate poverty in the country because of the economic recession and the trying time we are facing in the country. You will have food on your table by paying the sum of N6,400 and bring six more people to the group. This will go a long way to support the poverty alleviation program of the Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s administration.


She however clear doubts of intending members that the initiative is not Ponzi scheme, it is a program conceived to help its members with branches in most States of the country.


“This is not a Ponzi scheme but we work to together as a team to banish hunger from our societies by paying token”.


The Coordinator of the group in the State of Osun, Mrs Adenike Oyewale also reiterated on Maria explanation, said, “We have called all people from every strata in Osun. We will enlighten the new members by showing them how they will be qualified for the next level in the system. We don’t want begging in the society.


Another executive, Kemi Olarinde, said it is all about empowerment program which every member will be entitled to food, car, money and travelling ticket to Dubai as their level warrant it.
