The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has set up a committee to investigate the activities of the institution’s health centre.

According to a memo signed by Mr. E. Adeniyi, obtained by Osun Defender, the management requested for submissions from any member of staff or students who has complaints or observations on the activities of the health centre.

According to the secretary of the committee, the complaint or observation memorandum from any member of staff or students of the institution must be typed and duly signed and submitted to the secretary of the committee at the Directorate of Industrial Liaison and Placement office on or before the close of work on Tuesday, 24th October 2023.

It will be recalled that the Institution’s health centre was vandalized in 2019, as a result of the death of Aminu Hammed, a student of the institution who was rushed to the school health centre after he slumped in the examination Hall.

He was however referred to another hospital in Iree Town while the students were dissatisfied with the medical attention given to him by the institution’s health worker which led to a protest in the institution.

The memo of the institution in full;

“This is to notify the entire Polytechnic Community that the Management has set up a
committee to probe the activities of the Health Centre of the institution.”

“The committee, therefore wishes to request any member of staff or student who has
complaint(s) or observation(s) on the activities of the Health Centre to submit a memorandum to that eftect.”

“The memorandum (typed and duly signed) should be submitted to the secretary of the
committee at the Directorate of Industrial Liaison and placement office on or before the close of work on Tuesday, 24th October, 2023.”
