The embattled former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir Elrufai, was on Saturday absent as one of his sons, Bello Elrufai, APC, representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives took a second wife.

This is coming on the heels of Mr. Elrufai’s troubled bid to get clearance for his ministerial position in the cabinet of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Sources in the know informed Osun Defender that the former governor who may have jettisoned his ambition to serve in the current administration, and travelled abroad for undisclosed private engagements.

This may explain his noticeable absence during yesterday’s ceremony to celebrate the marriage of Bello to his new bride, Aisha Habibu. Mr. Elrufai instead sent the Governor of Kaduna State, Sen. Uba Sani to represent him at the event.
