Eid-il-Kabir: Osun Deputy Chief whip, Ogunkanmi Congratulates Muslims, Urges Youths Against Negative Influence

The Deputy Chief Whip of Osun State House of Assembly, Honorable Gbenga Ogunkanmi has congratulated Muslims across the state urging youths to guard against Negative Influence in the society.

Ogunkanmi made this known while speaking to journalists in his hometown, Ileogbo, Ayedire local government of Osun state.

Ogunkanmi who condemned religious extremists for giving Islam a bad name, advised Muslim parents to protect their children from the negative influences of those who preach hate and intolerance.

He also called on political leaders at all levels and of all persuasions to have the fear of God and the love for the people in their activities.

Urging leaders to use power fairly and justly, Ogunkanmi stressed the need for politicians to be accessible to the people instead of living in fortresses of power that detach them from the reality of the people.

“Leadership is about service to the people and there are numerous examples in the tradition of Prophet Muhammed SAW and his followers like Umar, who left their comfort zones to feel the hardship on the poor in the society,” he further stated.

He prayed for APC members across the State, pleading for unity among the party members.

He however, urged Muslim faithful to remain law abiding citizens during and after the period while using the day to pray for Osun and Nigerian at large.

He also prayed for the safe return of Osun pilgrims and all Nigerians who are performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
