The statement reads: “The attention of the Osun State Ministry of Education has been drawn to a report in some sections of the media stating that the Commissioner for Education described the Mega Schools built by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola as useless.

“The Ministry of Education debunks this narrative in its entirety, saying the Commissioner’s words were completely twisted out of context.

“It is sad that some journalists will decide to focus and twist the words of the Commissioner which was clearly saying the schools will be given a face lift for better use.

“Who in his right thinking mind will call those schools useless? They were built with tax payers money, we know we should put them into better use and that’s why the Commissioner said they will be given a face lift.

“The Commissioner never called the Mega Schools useless”, the statement concluded.

OSUN DEFENDER, in a telephone chat with the Commissioner confirmed that the contents of Eluwole’s Press Conference where the statement was alleged to have been made were twisted and distorted.

According to the Commissioner, the Mega Schools are giant laudable initiatives, which the Adeleke administration will be committed to reinvigorate.

Hon. Eluwole concluded: “Even the Iwo Mega Schools that was reported to be in rot, we discovered it had never been completed; talk less delivered for use. It has been confirmed that the contractor had not been paid for the remaining part of the work.

“Immediately this administration gets all the facts in the project ready, the contractor is going to be mobilized and work will be resumed and brought to completion so it can be delivered and commissioned for use.”
