Disgraced Judge, Others, Sighted at Pensioners Prayer Meeting In Osun

A disgraced former Judge of the High Court of Justice, State of Osun, Justice‎ Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede, was yesterday sighted at the gathering of Nigerian Union of Pensioners in Osogbo, the Osun state capital where pensioners had gathered to pray for year 2017.

The pensioners, who had set up tent at the recently renovated Freedom Park in Osogbo, eulogized President Muhammudu Buhari, appreciated governor Rauf Aregbesola and called on him to pay their gratuities.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners in the state, Comrade Omoniyi Ilesanmi alleged the state government owed the retired workers half of their pension between July 2014 and December, 2016. Osun Defender recalls Governor Aregbesola had in a statement last week, stated the sum of N14.2bn was used to clear staff salaries and pensions arrears for September 2016 to December 2016.

Comrade Omoniyi after prayers for the state and the governor said the NUP had set up the centre at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park to offer free healthcare services to their members.

However, in a related twist, our correspondent sighted a former Judge of the state, Justice Oloyede hobnobbing with pensioners. Recall Justice Oloyede was unceremoniously sacked by the National Judicial Council of Nigeria (NJC) for gross abuse of office when she maliciously wrote a petition to the state house of Assembly asking them to Impeach Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

Also sighted was Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman, chairman of Civil Societies Coalition for Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS), a rogue CSO group under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The duo in connivance with five pensioners amongst those present hurriedly put up a banner with the inscription, “you are welcome to Osun State Internally Displaced Pensioners (IDPs) camp.”

Addressing journalists at the venue where pensioners were given free medical check-up, Omoniyi said the retired civil servants who were appreciative of government efforts during this recession, were not ready to forfeit the outstanding balance of their pension.
