Court Remands Murder Suspect

A 45-year-old Abubakar Bello, has been remanded in Ilesa Prison custody over alleged murder of one Oyebanji Zachariah

The charge sheet disclosed that the accused person did commit felony to wit; murder and thereby committed an offence contrary and punishable under section 324 of the criminal code cap 34 vol.11 laws of osun state of Nigeria 2002.

According to the charge sheet, the suspect inflicted machete cuts on the head and body of his victim leading to his death on March 13, 2019 at about 12;15noon in Agbamu area, Ila-Orangun, an offence contrary to and punishable under section 319 of the criminal code cap 34 vol.11 laws of Osun state.

The suspect plea was not taken due to the nature of the offence preferred against him.

Presiding Magistrate, Mrs M. Awodele ordered that the case be transferred and mentioned at the Ila Magistrate court on May 20, 2019.

She added that the suspect is to be remanded in Ilesa Prison Custody pending the adjourned date.
