Countries Celebrating Eid El-Fitr 2024 Today, Tuesday

Authorities in Niger Republic, Mali and Afghanistan have announced the sighting of the Shawwal crescent, declaring that Eid el-Fitr in the countries will be observed on Tuesday.

Eid el-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

In the Niger Republic, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirmed the sighting of the new moon in five different states across the country.

In addition to Niger, Afghanistan’s Supreme Court also announced Tuesday as the first day of Shawaal, marking the end of Ramadan and the start of Eid-al-Fitr.

The court said 27 people in several provinces saw the crescent moon.

Meanwhile, Mali’s Ministry of Religious Affairs also announced Tuesday as Eid-al-Fitr in the West African country, citing the deliberation of the National Moon Observation Commission.
