Council Boss Tasks Health Workers

The Executive Secretary, Atakumosa West Central Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Honourable Adedeji Adeboye has charged health workers in the council area to be up and doing, dutiful and responsive in discharging their duties.

Adeboye gave this charge while speaking at a meeting he held with the medical staffers from all the maternity centres in the council.

At the meeting which held at the Palace Square of Adimula of Ifewara, the Council boss said health workers must see themselves as different from other council workers by being diligent, as they are employed to save lives.

“You are different from other council workers. You were employed to save lives and must therefore be dutiful, responsive and must always be at your duty posts”, he tasked the health workers.

Adeboye also urged them to always be friendly, accommodating, compassionate, caring and jovial with patients that come for treatment to allay their fears and thereby brightening their chances of overcoming their health challenges.

“As health workers, nurses in particular, it is a general belief that you are harsh and hostile in your interactions with patients”.

The Council boss who later appreciated their efforts and contributions to the health care delivery system of the council area however promised continued technical and logistic support to the Primary Health Care Department to enable the health workers improve on the quality of their service delivery to the citizenry in the local council.

Reacting to complaints on the bad state of some of the health facilities, he assured that he would personally go round for on-the-spot assessment with a view to carrying out necessary renovations within the ambit of available resources of the Local Council Development Area.
