Charity Organisation Donates Borehole To Community

People of Ayedun community, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo were thrown into a joyous mood as the Later-Day Saint (LDS) Charities provided them a motorised borehole with overhead tank through the high Chief Gbadebo Adeyemo (JP).

Handing over the borehole to the community, the site manager of LDS Charities, Stephen Opolu disclosed that the organisation has provided 60 boreholes to needy communities across Osun since its establishment in 2013.

He quoted the mission of the organisation which includes to provide communities with clean water source, improved sanitation facilities, and proper hygiene training.

Stephen handed over the borehole to Ayedun community and praised the Baale of Ogo Oluwa, High Chief Gbadebo Adeyemo who donated N200,000 as counterpart fund to the account opened for the project.

While delivering his speech, Chief Gbadebo appreciated the LDS Charities for the borehole which he described as a marvelous gift to his community.

He assured the donor of the project of proper  maintenance, adding that he has donated another N250,000 for the maintenance of the borehole.

His Royal Highness, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, represented by High Chief Agboola Rasheed, Baale Oke-Ijetu, Osogbo spoke about the importance of water to the society.

He applauded LDS Charities for their humanitarian work and for the development it added to Osogbo.

He urged residents of the community to take proper care of the borehole to serve its purpose.
