It has been confirmed that the Methodist pastor and two other members of the church, who were kidnapped on Sunday night have been released.
According to family members, no ransom was paid before their release.
Recall that the pastor, alongside seven other members were said to be returning to Osogbo from a meeting at Ile Ogbo, another town within the axis when the incident happened.
The state security agencies have however ensured the safe return of the victims.
Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola also confirmed this in a statement while greeting the people of the state on this year’s Eid Mubaraq saying;
“I also have good news of the safe return of Reverend Kayode Akande and two others of the Methodist Church Osun who were abducted along the Iwo-Osogbo road some days ago. They have since been reunited with their Family. To God be the Glory”.
