Blackout In Osogbo, Worrisome

The state of electricity in the state capital has not been encouraging in the last 48 days now, as it has affected many areas and streets. Many areas and streets at the state capital have been experiencing a total blackout which has caused great discomfort for most of the residents of these areas.


Some of the areas affected by the total blackout are Oke-Baale, Aderin, Plantation and so many other areas. It has caused pain for the residents and even business owners of these areas, as it has affected their daily living. It has been revealed that the 11KVA cables that transmit power in most of these areas have expired and need to be changed as soon as possible.


The well being of the residents of these areas needs to be catered for in order to make it a better place for them to live. In order to make the streets a better place for its people to live, the issue of total blackout and expired cables need a quick intervention of the government. Kudos to the government under the leadership of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, as the government is really trying its best in terms of infrastructural development, but there is a need for the government at the federal level to pay more attention to the issue of power supply.


This issue of total blackout can lead to something outrageous, many youths will want to take advantage of this situation to perpetrate evil practices. The concerned authorities and even government agencies are hereby called to come to our aid before the situation gets out of hand.
