Benue: I ‘m Surprised IGP Idris Disobeyed My Directives And Many More Interesting Newspaper Headlines.

Almost every newspaper reports for today are centering on the same story of how President Muhammadu Buhari was ignorant of the IGP Idris’s disobeidience to his directives.

The VANGUARD reports that president muhammadu Buhari yesterday expressed shock that the inspector –general of Police, Ibrahim Idris disobeyed his directives to stay in benue until the blood-letting between the farmers and herdsmen were resolved.

Buhari who spoke in Makurdi in a continuation of his tour of security challenged state said as soon as the pogrom took place, he was visited by Senators George Akume and Barnabas Gemade, he directed the IGP to immediately relocate to the state coming from DAILY SUN.

THE PUNCH says that shortly after the 73 persons were killed in January following clashes between the farmers and the herdsmen, Buhari had asked Idris to relocate to Benue. But during the meeting with the stakeholders, Buhari was told  that Idris did not spend up to 24 hours in the state. Buhari expressed shock, explained that he did the needful by ordering the IG to relocate to Benue.

New Telegraph also reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he was un aware that the  inspector- General of Police (IGP), Mr Ibrahim idris, disregarded his directives to relocate to Benue state after killing of 73 people in the Logo and Guma local government areas of the state.

“I am just getting to know this in this meeting, I am quite surprised” he said. He, however said that the meeting was not the best place to expose the inefficiency of his appointees, and appealed to Benue people to exercise restraint and live in peace with their neighbours. Two months after he directed Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris (IGP) to relocate to Benue State and stop killings by herdsmen, president  Muhammadu Buhari discovered tonly yesterday that that his orders were not carried out reports THE GUARDIAN.
