The chieftain of opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih, has condemned the masterminds of the report on death of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The elder statesman said those behind the rumor, in their hurried bid to propagate their mischievous and false report, forgot that the president left Nigeria for London and not Germany, on vacation, during which period he would undergo routine medical check-up”
Anenih also charged Nigerians to “desist from such despicable acts”, and instead wish the president well and pray for him to enjoy good health in order to steer the nation out of a biting recession.
Osun Defender recalls that Anenih was once a victim of false death rumoUrs. So has former President Ibrahim Babangida
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari, has saluted the Nigerian media for performing its duties diligently.
The President, who made his position known on his Twitter handle, @MBuhari, on Sunday in London, said he was always in touch with news from home.
President Buhari, whose picture was also posted in the tweet, specifically named Channels TV as one of his favourite Television stations.
He said: “Wherever I am, I keep up with news from home. Channels TV is one of my favorites. I’m proud of what the Nigerian media are achieving.’’
The post has, therefore, dispelled the insinuation about the President’s health conditions.
President Buhari left Abuja for the United Kingdom on Thursday on a short leave, which is part of his annual vacation.
