Adopt Semester School Fees Payment System, Reps Urge Varsities, Other Tertiary Institutions
Universities and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria have been called upon to adopt a semester-based school fee payment system.
The call was made by the House of Representatives on Thursday, following a resolution on a motion moved by Rep. Sa’ad Wada Taura at the Plenary on Thursday.
They noted that the method would enable students to cope with the current economic situation in the country.
Presenting the motion, Taura said adopting the payment system can minimise the financial strain on students.
He added that the method would also improve students’ access to higher education, and create a more transparent financial structure for institutions.
