Diginitaries at a International Conference held in Ile Ife praised and commended students of the Department of Theatre Arts, Osun State University, UNIOSUN, on Tuesday showcased their talent at an international conference held in Ile Ife.
The International conference which was tagged ‘Yoruba Civilization: the Nexus between Tradition and Modernity,’ was held at the Ojaja Arena, Ife Grand Resort, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Scores of dignitaries who attended the conference commended and praised the students for showing their talents.
In his welcome address, the Chief Convener of the conference, Professor Siyan Oyeweso, he spoke about the importance of tradition and modernity, explaining that the two will help improve our society better.
The lead speaker, Prof. Akin Ogundiran stated that the great Ife legacies are a blueprint for mending broken world at large.
He added that the great Ife has some historical legacies that are supposed to look into to make a balance society.
While speaking, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, the Orangun of Oke-Ila emphasised on the need for maximum respect to be given to all Obas.
Dignitaries at the conference included the Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Prof. Simeon Bamire, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, the Orangun of Oke-Ila, Dr. Oluseyi Atanda, President, Traditional Religion Worshippers Association, Osun State, and many others.
