Academic Transcript: OAU Disowns ETX-NG Company, Warns Against Illegal Transactions

The Postgraduate College of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife has disowned the Electronic Transcript Exchange And Certificate Verification System For Nigeria (ETX-NG), a company claiming to represent the university in the processing of student transcripts and other documentation for institutions both within and outside Nigeria.

In a press statement released by OAU Post Graduate College, signed by Professor Victor Olaleye, the provost of the college that the college on Friday, he noted that the institution never signed any contractual agreement with the company on sending of processing of Post Graduate Students Academic Records to any instructions within Nigeria or abroad.

According to the statement, “The attention of the Postgraduate College, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-lfe, NIGERIA has been drawn to the activities of ETX-NG, a company that claims to represent the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in the processing of Students’ transcripts and other documentations to Institutions within and outside Nigeria. For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state as follows:

“ETX-NG was once a Company contracted with the sending of UNDERGRADUATE TRANSCRIPTS ONLY from the University to outside Institutions/Organisations;

“At no time did the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, sign any contractual agreement with the ETX-NG on the sending or processing of POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS ACADEMIC RECORDS to any Institution(s) at home or abroad;

“The Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-lfe, has since terminated its contract with the ETX-NG for the sending of transcripts or any other academic records;

“The Obafemi Awolowo University does not permit anybody whether corporate or individual to process or send transcript(s) or other academic records on its behalf other than the Postgraduate College or Examinations and Records Section of the University. Any of such representations by ETX-NG or other similar Organization(s) is considered illegal and dubious.

“Consequent upon the above clarifications, the Postgraduate College, Obafemi Awolowo University hereby advise the general public to take note of this disclaimer and desist from transacting any business with EIX-NG on behalf of the University. Any individual or corporate body who transacts any business with the company does so at his/her own personal risk.

“Prospective applicants for academic records are, therefore, strictly advised to apply to the University directly through approved platforms for that purpose.”
