There was a little pandemonium in Ooni’s Palace in Ile-Ife on Monday as policemen at the palace arrested a middle age woman for slapping a chief whose identity is yet to be known.
Our correspondent gathered that the aggrieved woman slapped the chief for abusing her and alleging that she was constituting nuisance in the palace.
The incident triggered some palace guards to call the attention of the police.
An eye witness, Mr Kehinde Oluwagbemiga described the action of the woman as ungodly.
He added that since the palace chiefs have ordered some indigenes to pay some entitlements also known has “Owo Iko”, she has been formenting trouble.
Contrarily, Mrs Awe Odun said the chief is to be blamed for the action of the woman.
” The chief slapped the woman for making noise in the palace and the woman returned the slap. I don’t know when justice will reign in our country. It is because the incident happened in the palace that was why the woman was the only one arrested. Both would have been arrested if the incident took place outside the palace,” she said.
