Osun Speaker Charges LAUTECH Council On Crisis Resolution

By Israel Afolabi

Speaker, State of Osun House of Assembly, Honourable Najeem Salaam has expressed hope that the trouble with Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) would become history soonest.

In a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Mr. Goke Butika on Wednesday, Salaam while addressing the governing council and Houses of Assembly standing committees of both Oyo and Osun in his office, asserted that with the composition of Professor Oladapo Afolabi-led governing council, the hope for the lasting solution to LAUTECH crisis soonest, appears brighter.

Salaam said it is painful seeing students out school for that long, asking the parties to overhaul the system in the university in such a way that the current crisis would be the last.

He empathized with students and parents for their patience on the messy situation, saying that the restitution should be put in place to assuage their strained nerves on the matter.

Speaking, Chairman House Committee on Education of Osun parliament, Hon. Oladoyin Bamisayemi assured that the school would be reopened at the end of the meetings with all concerned stakeholders.
